Mario Clash is basically a port of the classic platform game "Mario Bros." It has the same basic style of gameplay but with a new three-dimensional graphical look. The setting of the game takes place in the Clash House Tower. Its been invaded by baddies (including Sidesteppers, Shellcreepers/Koopa Troopas, and Flying Goombas) and Mario must traverse pipes and clear them out by throwing Koopa shells. Enemies can attack you at a distance. You must avoid them all the while eliminating enemies in your immediate location. Over 40 levels of fast-paced Koopa bopping action is available.
Extra lives can be gained by reaching a score of 50,000 points or 100,000 points. In addition, an extra life is received after collecting all coins in the mini-games. One of the biggest criticisms of the game has been its lack of a save option.
