The Game Boy Advance is the next-generation upgrade to the Game Boy Color despite both being developed alongside each other . The system was kept in development for several additional years until prices and technology had reached Nintendo's desired levels. The Game Boy Advance changes the players grip to a more horizontal position and its most touted feature is that it can simulate 3D in the same way the Super Nintendo did. The Game Boy Advance has been very good to Nintendo. While the company's marketshare in the console market continues to dwindle, its Game Boy line only continues to dominate the handheld space. This domination is thanks mostly to one of the best software libraries available for a system. Along with Pokemon, Nintendo has released such celebrated titles as Advance Wars, Fire Emblem, and Wario Ware. Nintendo has also opened the gates for retro gamers by continually releasing remakes and sequels of classic game titles. One of its most successful game remakes has been its Famicom Mini/Classic NES Series, which were classic Nintendo games such as Excitebike and Super Mario Bros. re-released to celebrate the 20th anniversary of the original Nintendo console.
The Game Boy Advance handheld and accessories contain model numbers beginning with the letters AGB and ending with a consecutive number system. AGB represents the words "Advanced Game Boy". Project: Atlantis was the codename of the Game Boy Advance during its early days of development. Here you will find detailed information regarding all aspects of the Game Boy Advance and its accessories. |
