Mitsuhiro Takano started out as a scenario planner and script writer for many games including Marvelous, Star Fox 64 and The Legend of Zelda: Majora's Mask. Takano got to team up with director Masamichi Abe, and co-direct his first title, 1080 Snowboarding. Takano's script work on The Legend of Zelda: Majora's Mask and lead design efforts on 1080 Snowboarding really impressed producer Shigeru Miyamoto. When Eiji Aonuma left the Zelda series to work on original EAD projects, Takano seized the opportunity and stepped in as the new main director of the sequel to GameCube's The Legend of Zelda: The Wind Waker.
