On October 8, 2003, Don James was promoted to Executive Vice President of Operations from his previous position as Senior Vice President. James was one of Nintendo's first U.S. employees. He started work in August 1981 as Warehouse Manager, responsible for the assembly and shipping of coin-operated games. During the past 22 years, Nintendo has relied upon his extensive creative design skills, outstanding management ability and unique expertise with products, packaging design, promotions, trade shows and manufacturing requirements.

As the Executive Vice President of Operations, James oversees the Design Services, Engineering, Manufacturing, Planning and Procurement, Shipping and Consumer Service departments at Nintendo of America.

His creative design capabilities have contributed broadly from the packaging design of Nintendo games to the design and work of Nintendo's yearly Electronic Entertainment Expo booths.
