In February of 1994, Lincoln was appointed chairman of Nintendo of America.

Lincoln was born on February 14, 1940 in Oakland, California. He entered the University of California at Berkeley in 1957. After four years in the military as a Naval officer with the Judge Advocate General Corps, he joined a law firm in Seattle. In 1981, Lincoln started doing legal work for Nintendo of America Inc., who was then still a very small arcade company. A year later, he joined the company as the senior vice president and general counsel. In 1994, Lincoln was promoted to Chairman of Nintendo of America, co-managing the company with his good friend and long-time business associate, Minoru Arakawa, NOA's then president. Lincoln married his wife in 1969.

Lincoln's favorite fast food is pizza. His favorite video games are in the puzzle genre and his favorite game to play is Tetris. When asked if he enjoys his job at Nintendo, Lincoln responded, "It definitely beats practicing law."
